CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT AND ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
Alacrity is committed to empowering people and communities that share our values. Our primary corporate social investment project is the Kay Mason Foundation (KMF), where we provide full tuition funding for 3 underprivileged school children. This is what one of our graduates had to say: “Without the Foundation and my kind donors at Alacrity, I would probably still be in the townships, trying to feed a young son or daughter. They take a constant interest in how I am doing, ensuring that I have everything I need to help me achieve my goals. Through their help and my school, I have learnt to be confident, competitive, strong and proud.”
Alacrity recognises its responsibility to contribute towards curbing the overwhelming socio-economic challenges facing our communities, and is committed to promoting the spirit of giving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged people. We encourage staff to actively participate in this process, by devoting time and energy to deliver sustainable, meaningful benefits to the people of our adopted charity beneficiary, the Darling Focus Community Centre.
Enterprise Development is one of the key pillars of our empowerment strategy. We have invested in a social media company, Bizxnet started by dynamic entrepreneur, Tamzin Martin. Bizxnet provides social media training and implementations to companies such as VWSA and the Cape Chamber of Commerce.
As part of our ongoing commitment to enterprise development, we selected four individuals from our core business units to assist and mentor Word Up Productions, a graphic design company, in growing their business. This company offers world class graphic design solutions and photography services.
